The new website offers key facts about the regulated industry in our state, a history of our association and a library of policy information on our advocacy in Olympia.
We are proud to launch a new website that showcases the contributions of our members in promoting environmentally and economically sustainable waste, recycling and organics policies. The Washington Refuse & Recycling Association (WRRA) proudly represents regulated member-businesses – family-owned and publicly-traded – that serve 281 cities, 39 counties, and 8 million residents in our state. With our updated website, we now have a reliable new tool to support the WRRA’s goals in that work.
In evaluating WRRA’s legacy website, which was last updated in 2021, our team identified opportunities to strengthen communications among our membership, distribute bulletins, inform public policy debates and offer consumers helpful information in their critical role as a partner in reducing waste.
Any new website is a work-in-progress as we hear from our visitors what is working well and what merits on-going refinement. We encourage you to check out different parts of the new site and let us know what you think – please send your thoughts to office@wrra.org. I want to especially thank Alexis on our team for leading the charge on what has been a significant amount of work behind-the-scenes to make this new website a reality for our members and visitors.
The new website offers key facts about the regulated industry in our state, a history of our association and a library of policy information on our advocacy in Olympia. Visitors will also find FAQs on information helpful for consumers, discussions in news coverage about relevant policy areas and our work with national partners. We look forward to updating these sections regularly so that policymakers, consumers and our members may access the information that is most helpful in their lives and work.
Finally, our website also includes a “members-only” section that offers regular updates on safety bulletins, event organizing and other business of the association.
As the executive director of the WRRA, I am glad that we had an opportunity to overhaul our website so that it is easier to use, better able to share information among our members and with the public. It now is also much more reliable and functional for visitors, which is part of our industry’s commitment to being ever mindful of how to best support those we serve. Let us know what you think!
